Sabah And Sarawak; Defining And Redefining

I chanced upon a brief history of the entry of Sabah and Sarawak into Malaysia, Zainon Ahmad for The Sun (24.07.2007) reproduced here. It points to the uneasiness in and around the entry of Sabah and Sarawak into Malaysia and points to root concerns that have prevailed ever since.

Read with a more recent analysis of Sabah and Sarawak post GE2008 written by Anthea Mulakala for the Asia Foundation (see here), the two articles set out an interesting perspective to the discontent that that now threatens to redefine federal government.

WE SABAHANS AND SARAWAKIANS NEVER ENTERED MALAYSIA!

MALAYSIA ONLY CAME INTO EXISTENCE WHEN SABAH, SARAWAK AND SINGAPORE AGREED TO MERGE WITH MALAYA ...ON THE 16TH SEPTEMBER 1963....HENCE THE BIRTH OF THE MALAYSIAN FEDERATION! (Singapore quited in 65)

SO WITHOUT SABAH AND SARAWAK....THERE IS NO MALAYSIA!

Hear this….all ye Malaya’s STUNTMEN!….enough is enough…please don’t ever use Sabahans as “political decoys!” I TELL YOU PUTRAJAYA….ONCE WE …REALLY…REALLY…MOVE…THEN IT WILL BE A QUEENLESS MOVE AGAINST THE KING!

Hey..hey…….hhey..I am talking about Chess here…where a “queenless opponent stumbles the King!

WE ARE SABAHANS……AND AS LONG AS MIGHTY KINABALU FACES BOTH SUNRISE AND SUNSET 24/7…….WE THE “ORANG UTANS” REIGN OVER NORTH BORNEO AS GOD AND GODDESSES!

Salam Malik.
I couldn't help but suspect what's going on post GE12 in Malaysia is similar to the Zionist & neocons stategy in the middle east (see Jonathan Cook's analyses in his book, Israel & the Clash of Civilizations - Iraq, Iran & the Plan to Remake the Middle East)... with BN/UMNO disintegrating and PKR taking over, presumably with the help of hopping BN MPs from Sabah & Sarawak, the "plan" of dismantling the "ketuanan melayu", the dream of LKY 30 years ago is coming to fruition (during his lifetime)... with Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population still recovering (if ever) from the financial crisis of 1997, the region is "open" for the island-state of Singapore for the taking... should be interesting to see the unfolding of events in the next few months?
